Sangiovese is among the most important and popular red grape varieties popular in Italy, mainly in Tuscany and Romagna. This wine history and personality have always attracted the attention of scholars and connoisseurs, as well as amateurs.
Despite the prevalence of this species in all of Italy, it is presumed to be native to Tuscany, the land that makes the most of it. This grape is present in a wide variety of red wines.
It is characterized by a generally late ripening and gives its best results when the grapes are grown in soils of clay and limestone.
The result is a balanced wine with a floral and elegant aroma.
In Podere La Marronaia Sangiovese, grapes come exclusively from our own organic vineyard of Santa Lucia, which slopes eastward at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level.
We believe in tradition, respecting the environment, and the natural life cycles of plants to create healthy and quality products that embrace the heart and essence of Tuscan gastronomy.
