IGT red Tuscan wine stored in oak barrels, Pico is composed of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot. It is produced only in the best years and left in oak barrels for 18 months. The latest production dates back to 2006. It comes from certified organic grapes from the vineyard next to Podere La Marronaia, in the heart of the fertile Tuscan hills 300 meters above sea level, and has an alcohol content of 14%. This wine is very fruity and full-bodied, and has a strong taste, making it perfect for a special occasion.

Pico takes its name from the initials of Peter and Corrado, the sons of Luigi and Silvia Dei-Morrochi, owners and managers of Podere La Marronaia. Their kids, now adults, contribute to the farm with passion.
This wine is made only in the best years and is to be used for special occasions, when you want to sublimate the spirit of the Tuscan style.
It is derived from ICEA-certified, hand-picked organic grapes. The Merlot is harvested earlier than the Sangiovese. The fermentation takes place in cement vats with a temperature ranging from 28 ° C to 30 ° C. It is then put to rest in oak barrels for 18 months, from which it inherits an oak aroma that adds to the natural body and fruity flavor.
Being a well-structured wine, it is at its best when served in wide glasses to facilitate the dispersion of floral aromas, at a temperature of about 18-20 ° C.

Sensory analysis

Appearance: intense ruby red color.
Smell: elegant and very persistent. The smell is very varied. One can distinguish the notes of small red wild berries and vanilla and spicy black berries, and notes arising from aging in barrels.
Taste: structured and balanced, smart and elegant, it has a very dense, sweet and ripe tannins, and a long finish on the palate.
