He was a school headmaster in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, the teacher Dei was known as a kind and authoritative person, of great values, passed on to generations of students who still remember him with admiration. And it is because of his legacy that we wanted to create this new wine, sweet and austere at the same time, creating a mix of meticulously balanced aromas.
The grapes used for the Orazio della Marronaia come from Podere Fornicchiaia, our vineyard near Siena.
The blend consists of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet grapes.
It is then fermented in cement tanks and then aged for 3 years in oak barrels.
