Raggio D' Anfora - Vernaccia in Terracotta Amphora × 2

Raggio d’Anfora is an IGT Tuscan white wine made with 100% Vernaccia of San Gimignano. These grapes are grown in the Podere le Colonne vineyard on the hills of San Gimignano. The lack of pesticides in the soil, natural minerality, and southeast exposure during the hot Tuscan summer, makes this is the ideal habitat for cultivating the Vernaccia di San Gimignano grape. The vineyard is situated at a height of 300 meters/984 feet, and it has 4000 plants per hectare. The late harvest is between September and October, and it is made exclusively by hand to guarantee the optimal wine result. The grapes are left on the vine after ripening to maintain a high sugar level.

This is completely different in comparison to the original DOCG Vernaccia. We decided to enhance the particular aroma of this grape with a one-year fermentation in an old terracotta jar. This technique helps the wine to preserve its aromas, keeping all the typical features of this white grape.
The taste is mineral, savory and smooth at the same time due to the oxygenation and the presence of potassium in the terracotta jar.
Raggio d’Anfora is dedicated to Giacomo and his beautiful and radiant smile.
He drew the lovely label and we decided to make it permanent. This label can’t be ruined or deteriorate.
Our “Intenso” is a red wine made with 100% Sangiovese red grape, which they come from a vineyard close to Podere la Marronaia, in San Gimignano. It was fermented in concrete tank with a temperature between 28°C and 30°C (82,4 °F – 86 °F)
It’s a very mature wine, you can definitely feel the essence of the terroir. It’s dedicated to Luigi, because this wine perfectly represents his strong and intense personality.

FOOD PAIRING

Both wines, despite the big differences, can be perfectly paired with some starters like cold meats and cheeses.
The Raggio d’Anfora is a white wine so it’s perfect for a summer dinner with fresh and savoury flavors.
The “Intenso” is perfect if it’s paired with cold cuts or truffle, so all the flavors that can’t be covered by the bold aroma of this wine.
