Supermarket/Grocers:
The COOP supermarket is on the other  side of the city just outside the historical centre going towards Poggibonsi.  The supermarket is usually open from Monday to Saturday, from 8.30 am until 8 pm, during the Summer it’s also open on Sunday morning from 8.30 am until 1 pm. Other grocery shops can be found in the centre or along the road. Here you can find local products such as wine, extra virgin olive oil, honey and cheese.

Shops in general:
Most of these shops are situated in the historical centre and during the tourist season are open every day from 9 am until 8 pm.

Local handcrafts:
Ceramic, leather, wood, straw, textiles and farm produce such as wines (Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG and Rosso di San Gimignano doc), extra virgin olive oil, hone and cheeses.

Chemists:
There are two chemists in the centre. The local chemists situated in the Piazza della Cisterna and the Borsini chemist situated along the Via San Matteo just outside the Piazza del Duomo. They are open every day from 9 am until 1 pm and from 4 pm until 8 pm.

Petrol Stations:
There are two petrol stations with 24 hour self-service.  Coming from Marronaia the first is the TOTAL about 300 metres before arriving at Porta San Matteo and the second is the API, about 300 metres after Porta San Matteo.

Banks:
There are four banks situated in the historical centre open every day from Monday to Friday from 8 am until 1.30 pm and from 2.30 pm until 3.30 pm. All have cash-points and credit card facilities.

Post Office:
The Post Office is in Piazza delle Erbe and is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am until 4 pm and on Saturday from 8.30 am until 12.30 pm. Stamps are also sold in the cigarette shops and tourist shops.

Weekly market:
The weekly market is held on Thursday morning from about 7.30 am until 1.30 pm in the main square, Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Cisterna and Piazza delle Erbe.  During the Summer period the market is held in Piazza S. Agostino.

Tourist Information Office:
The tourist information office at the local offices is in the Piazza del Duomo and is open every day from 9 am until 1 pm and from 3pm until 7 pm.

Mass:
The Mass can be celebrated every day in the church of S. Bartolo (at 8 am and 6 pm) and in the church of S. Agostino (at 5 pm); every Sunday in the Duomo (11 am) and in S. Agostino (at 9.30 am and 6 pm).  The Mass is celebrated in English every Sunday in the cloister of S. Agostino at 11 am.
